Assignment #1
Our Class

Assignent #2
Movie Poster
Forrest Gump is one of my favourite movies, but it also has an extremely interesting poster.

There are several features to this poster that would make the movie more appealing:

First, there is the text. The title, the main actor, the director, producer, supporting actors and so on as well as a tagline, "The world will never be the same once you've seen it through the eyes of Forrest Gump." The name "Forrest Gump" is unusual enough in itself to attract attention, but other things in the poster draw one's attention as well.

The background is white which might attract attention, but the enormous blank space in the upper left stands out like a sore thumb. It parallels the simplicity of Forrest. By looking at his picture directly, we can see he is a simple man, but what actually happens in the plot is not revealed at all by the poster, which makes the reader want to see the film just to see WHY they will see the world differently after watching this movie.

Assignment #3
Changing Colour
This is a photo of my good friend, Rachel Cannon, with a few minor modifications...

Assignment #4
Paths

Assignment #5
Filters
The Original:
First Variation: Added a bump map to give the photo more depth, and make it seem like the pipes are curving right out of the screen, and highlighted the further pipes that are in the light already.
Second Variation: Created a layer and used noise, bump map and lighting effects to create a newspaper print background. Then applied newspaper filter to photo, and a headline.
 Preliminary final assignment
Not quite done yet, but this gives you a sense I hope. I basically did it from scratch. The only import was syndrome. It took a very long time.
